Spread out the cuts across a bundle of several wires: if many joins are opposite each other their bulk may make it difficult to fit the loom into the car. If possible, replace wiring with new wire of the same colour. The new wire must be the right size: there are five sizes, depending on current rating. Repairs in wrapped sections of the loom are the only places where you may join wires by twisting them together and soldering the joint mainly because there may not be room for any other method.

Since the finite-impulse-response (FIR) filtering is a common operation in DSP, we will continue our discussion based on examining the difference equation of an FIR filter. This simple example will show the typical properties of many DSP algorithms. After reviewing the problem of handling the incoming samples, we will discuss the circular buffering as an efficient solution to the problem.

The datasheet goes on to say that "the nRESET pin is internally connected to VDD with a pull up resistor of 50 kΩ." So... why are there two options for how to configure the nReset pin when it is not being used? Why not just recommend that it should be left floating (since it is already pulled high internally)? And, if there are indeed technical reasons for when the pin should be externally pulled up to VDD (for better noise immunity, as an example) then let us know what those technical reasons are.

The outrunner is already the standard motor in laser printers, copy machines, fax machines, scanners, blue ray players, cd players, where a very precise, constant speed is needed. It is also found in model helicopters, RC airplanes and other variable speed applications where there are light weight requirements. It is totally different than all other motors.

Today servomechanisms are used in automatic machine tools, satellite-tracking antennas, remote control airplanes, automatic navigation systems on boats and planes, and antiaircraft-gun control systems. Other examples are fly-by-wire systems in aircraft which use servos to actuate the aircraft control surfaces, and radio-controlled models which use RC servos for the same purpose. Many autofocus cameras also use a servomechanism to accurately move the lens. A hard disk drive has a magnetic servo system with sub-micrometre positioning accuracy. In industrial machines, servos are used to perform complex motion, in many applications.

However, and this is very perplexing, there is no additional information related to the "separate application note." My suspicion is that Sensirion intended to include a link to this app note but then simply forgot to include it; perhaps additional information will be provided in the datasheet next revision.

Test each mended wire with a circuit tester and battery, connected to the nearest connectors either side of the mend. Re-wrap the exposed section of the loom with self-adhesive or "clingfilm" PVC insulating tape. Put some layers between the exposed section and adjoining wires - not merely a cover over the top - then fit the loom back into the car. Reconnect all terminals and clips, then test all the electrical components involved.

The damage caused by overheated wires is easy to find; but if only a single wire has overheated and melted at some point, you may have to use a circuit tester to find the break. If the damage is in an open run of wiring, you may be able to mend separate wires without taking out a section of the loom. If it is in any part of the covered sections, you need to remove at least part of the wiring loom.
