STARTER SOLENOID "Relay" — All cars are wired so that the batterys main cable connects to the starter motor windings "the thick cable is needed for large current flow, right?". This wire must be switched on and off, of course, and it would be costly and inefficient to route it through the ignition switch "not to mention the size of the switchs components required to carry such current!". Consequently, a relay is necessary.

The datasheet goes on to say that "the nRESET pin is internally connected to VDD with a pull up resistor of 50 kΩ." So... why are there two options for how to configure the nReset pin when it is not being used? Why not just recommend that it should be left floating (since it is already pulled high internally)? And, if there are indeed technical reasons for when the pin should be externally pulled up to VDD (for better noise immunity, as an example) then let us know what those technical reasons are.

Such solenoids operate in three stages, the disengaged, partially engaged and engaged. In the disengaged position the drive gear is released and no current is flowing. In the partially engaged stage, current from the starter switch flows through both the pull-in and the hold-in coils.

The datasheet states (see image below) that this IC—specifically the CMOSens® technology that it uses—is "designed for mass production." Umm, should not this go without saying? I have seen datasheets state "not recommended for new designs," but I do not ever recall seeing one that specifies that the IC, or its underlying technology, is designed for mass production. This benefit makes me question if Sensirion has other ICs that are in fact not designed for mass production. It is all a bit puzzling. Have you seen other IC datasheets call this out? If so, please let us know.

Panelization is the arranging of arrays of multiple PCBs onto a single substrate that fits in the standard processing machine. A panel may hold multiple boards with similar or different sizes and shapes. This method is faster and less costly compared to the fixtures, which require a custom carrier for every new PCB design.

Electronic motors are found in kids toys, RC cars, airplanes and helicopters, printers, scanners, and fax machines. They are expensive when purchased, quantity 1, new with manual. This is because the motors are part of a supply chain that is usually just making enough to fill orders for kids toys, etc. Many can be found for sale on the internet, but very few are in stock and the price is high if they are. Often it is easier to purchase the kids toy and take it apart. The goal is to connect these motors to the arduino and then make something new with them. The goal of this document is to describe what to expect.
By France Barbara. Motor Wiring. Published at Saturday, December 02nd 2017, 17:02:52 PM. Brushed DC motors rotate continuously when DC voltage is applied to their terminals. The stepper motor is known by its property to convert a train of input pulses (typically square wave pulses) into a precisely defined increment in the shaft position. Each pulse moves the shaft through a fixed angle. Stepper motors effectively have multiple "toothed" electromagnets arranged around a central gear-shaped piece of iron. The electromagnets are energized by an external driver circuit or a micro controller. To make the motor shaft turn, first, one electromagnet is given power, which magnetically attracts the gear teeth. When the gear teeth are aligned to the first electromagnet, they are slightly offset from the next electromagnet.

Care should be taken when depaneling the perforated-tab PCB array; otherwise, an incorrect method will splinter or tear the solder-mask or active surface layer. The ideal breakout method should not cause any damage to the board or transfer stress from the PCB surface to the components.
