When the clutch pedal is released, the thrust bearing is withdrawn and the diaphragm-spring load once again clamps the driven plate to the flywheel to resume the transmission of power. Some cars have a hydraulically operated clutch. Pressure on the clutch pedal inside the car activates a piston in a master cylinder, which transmits the pressure through a fluid-filled pipe to a slave cylinder mounted on the clutch housing. The slave-cylinder piston is connected to the clutch release arm.

The datasheet states (see image below) that this IC—specifically the CMOSens® technology that it uses—is "designed for mass production." Umm, should not this go without saying? I have seen datasheets state "not recommended for new designs," but I do not ever recall seeing one that specifies that the IC, or its underlying technology, is designed for mass production. This benefit makes me question if Sensirion has other ICs that are in fact not designed for mass production. It is all a bit puzzling. Have you seen other IC datasheets call this out? If so, please let us know.

The tab-route or breakaway tab method is suitable for PCBs with either similar or different designs, or where it is not possible or practical to use the V-grooves. The designer leaves a perforated tabs routing space between the different or similar boards, hence allowing for separation after processing.

Resistance between common wire and coil-end wire is always half of the resistance between coil-end wires. This is because there is twice the length of coil between the ends and only half from center (common wire) to the end. A quick way to determine if the stepper motor is working is to short circuit every two pairs and try turning the shaft. Whenever a higher than normal resistance is felt, it indicates that the circuit to the particular winding is closed and that the phase is working.

On the high end are precision industrial components that use a rotary encoder. On the low end are inexpensive radio control servos (RC servos) used in radio-controlled models which use a free-running motor and a simple potentiometer position sensor with an embedded controller. The term servomotor generally refers to a high-end industrial component while the term servo is most often used to describe the inexpensive devices that employ a potentiometer. Stepper motors are not considered to be servomotors, although they too are used to construct larger servomechanisms. Stepper motors have inherent angular positioning, owing to their construction, and this is generally used in an open-loop manner without feedback. They are generally used for medium-precision applications.

A lousy wiring job will keep your electrical accessories from operating at full potential—and that means subpar performance. Many people are intimidated by the prospect of wiring a vehicle. But a proper wiring job doesn’t have to be a scary task—we’ve put together a few tips to help make the job a little bit smoother.

Due to their non-standard dimensions, the oddly shaped, thin, or fragile boards do not fit properly in the reflow, component placement, or other standard processing machines. Lack of adequate support and alignment may strain, bend or damage the fragile boards as they go through the processing system. In addition, this may impact the accuracy of the process.

Use a wire stripper to remove about 1/8in. (3 mm) of insulation from the end of the wire. Lay the bare strands in the inner section of the connector. Use crimping pliers to tighten the two small tongues firmly around the insulated part of the wire. On the other side of the connector, push the wire strands back and down flat. Hold the connector blade upwards to avoid solder running into the spade part.
