As you may have noticed, this is one of those annoying situations in which the pin configuration is the opposite of what you want: the DAC’s input pins move from bit 7 to bit 0 going downward, whereas the MCU’s output pins move from bit 7 to bit 0 going upward. I couldn’t remedy this by re-assigning the microcontroller pins because I wanted the data bits to correspond to the actual bits of the Port 2 register (so that I could write a full byte to the DAC without moving bits around). So I ended up with some awkward routing, but nothing terrible.

The electronics in the ESC pulses the motor to tell it is initial direction and some other feed back system humans using RC or an autopilot reading accelerometers or gyros adjusts the speed.

The datasheet goes on to say that "the nRESET pin is internally connected to VDD with a pull up resistor of 50 kΩ." So... why are there two options for how to configure the nReset pin when it is not being used? Why not just recommend that it should be left floating (since it is already pulled high internally)? And, if there are indeed technical reasons for when the pin should be externally pulled up to VDD (for better noise immunity, as an example) then let us know what those technical reasons are.

Before you disconnect anything, make absolutely sure you know how to put it back. Number both sides of each connection with labels made of masking tape. If necessary, make drawings of cable routes and how clips fit. Use a craft knife or razor blade to cut away the wrapping from the damaged section. Take care not to cut into the plastic cable insulation.

Where they run through a hole, the sharp edges are lined with a rubber grommet. Sometimes the loom is divided into sections joined by multi-pin plugs and sockets, so that it can be removed and refitted section by section.
